Kirsty Bower is Head of Procurement at Europe’s largest housing association following the merger between Affinity Sutton and Circle Housing in November 2016. With 125,000 homes Clarion aspires to be one of the biggest house builders in the country, and are set to build 50,000 high quality homes of all tenures over ten years. Unlike many, Kirsty is unique in the fact she started out her career in Procurement rather than falling into it like so many others in the profession. Kirsty cut her teeth at Bechtel in the oil and gas industry. After many years in the private sector she moved to the public sector where she secured roles at the Teacher Training Agency, Inland Revenue and National Audit Office. In 2005, Kirsty decided to bridge the gap between her private and public sector background and move into the “third sector”. After a stint at Southern Housing Group she joined Affinity Sutton Group in 2008 as their Head of Procurement and subsequently became the Head of Procurement for Clarion Housing Group after the merger.
