David Owen

Global Purchasing Director, Production & Aftermarket Parts, Jaguar Land Rover

 

David Owen is the Global Purchasing Director for Production, Special Operations and Aftermarket Parts (Direct Procurement) at Jaguar Land Rover.
David’s global purchasing team of 700 professionals procure all parts fitted to vehicles at JLR factories and the parts fitted at JLR dealers, managing spend of c.£15Bn in 2017 and in the next 2 years will award contracts exceeding £100Bn.
Starting in Jaguar as an Apprentice in 1987, David completed an Engineering degree in 1993 and has held a variety of purchasing management positions in Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Ford of Europe over the last 20 years including Supplier Technical Assistance, Strategy, Supplier Warranty, Programme Management/ New Product Introduction and buying across all product areas.
David has led transformational change within the Purchasing team and wider JLR enterprise to create value, reduce total cost, improved supplier relationships and performance though building the capability of the team into a leading Purchasing organisation.
David is married with 4 children and leisure pursuits include golf, skiing and running.
